NORTHERN LAKE COMO CYCLE PATHS

A scenic cycling experience exploring the northern part of Lake Como, taking you through small lakeside villages, mountain landscapes and spectacular views while avoiding the busiest roads for much of the route.

The tour starts in Menaggio, on the shores of Lake Como, and follows the western shore north towards Dongo, passing through some of the most authentic and scenic landscapes of the northern lake.

Along the way, the route combines lakeside cycle paths, sections of the former main road now closed to traffic, and quiet secondary roads, allowing you to enjoy the scenery at a relaxed pace and away from the busiest sections of the road.

The route follows the shoreline through small villages and lakeside communities, with constantly changing views of the lake and surrounding mountains. It is a different way to experience Lake Como, offering a more local perspective beyond the area's classic tourist routes.

Once in Dongo, there is time to take a break by the lake and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the northern shore before heading back towards Menaggio.

With approximately 30 km of cycling and moderate elevation gain, this is a relaxed and scenic ride designed for those who want to discover Lake Como by bike without tackling demanding climbs.
